Attendance Policy
With regard to our chamber groups, I ask that players be considerate of the fact that they very important members of very SMALL teams!! In order for chamber music to be enjoyable and productive, there must be a unified commitment from everyone involved. Please be up front with me about what kind of time you can commit, and let me know when you can't make it to rehearsal.
It is assumed that when you join our group you will be an enthusiastic and hard working team member, willing to play what is the best fit for everyone involved. Sometimes this means playing music that is challenging, and every once in a while it means being patient as you play music that may not be the most challenging for you. Because we meet only once a week, every player must take on the responsibility to prepare their music at home. The rehearsal time we have is precious, and it is inconsiderate to to treat it as an individual's "practice time". There is nothing more frustrating than having to work with a fellow musician who isn't pulling their own weight. As Director, I reserve the right to change pieces and/or re-arrange groups if I deem it necessary.
We always welcome visitors, and encourage all current members to recruit new players at any time! If you are wondering how things work, bring your instrument and join in on rehearsal.
